Eight Reported Dead, Many Injured in Tragic Crash on Accra-Kumasi Highway
In a tragic accident early this morning at around 5:30 a.m., eight people were reported dead following a crash involving a VIP bus on the Accra-Kumasi Highway. The accident occurred at Obretema, a town in the Suhum Municipality of the Eastern Region.
The VIP bus, with registration number GR 7632-24, was traveling from Tamale to Accra when the incident happened. The crash claimed the lives of seven men and one woman, who died on the spot. Several other passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Suhum Government Hospital for emergency treatment.
The cause of the accident has yet to be determined, as investigations are ongoing to uncover the events leading up to the fatal crash. Authorities are urging drivers to exercise caution on the roads, especially along the busy Accra-Kumasi Highway, which has seen multiple accidents over the years.
